FREE English classes to learn English as a second language (ESL) in Allegany County!
We have provided ESL classes for the Cumberland area since 2006, and have had students from over 30 countries. All are welcome, and classes meet Mondays 7:00pm – 9:00 pm. Students can jump in at any point! Classes are entirely free and textbooks are available for purchase.
Why learn English with us?
- We use Side-by-Side textbooks, a widely used ESL curriculum which has several levels from Foundations for those with no prior English skills, to intermediate and advanced levels for those who want to sharpen their English skills.
- We have been providing classes since 2006, with students from over 30 countries.
- We have helped prepare students who went on to study at Allegany College of Maryland and Frostburg State University.
- Classes are small and friendly. There are no exams to worry about.
- When possible, we provide transportation on a limited basis. Upon request we can usually provide childcare when needed.
